Artist Bio

Kristin Grace is a songwriter and performer in both classical and country music. She is deeply passionate about her craft and won't leave you guessing about her message or her musicianship. She seeks to spark hope and joy through the songs she sings and the stories she tells.

Born and raised in Alberta, she was influenced by her love of storytelling and a healthy dose of country music, which inspired her to pick up the guitar and start writing songs at age 12. In 2019, with a heart full of passion and a notebook full of ideas, she began pursuing country music.

Her first achievement was the Ship and Anchor Youth Songwriting Competition in 2019 where she placed as a finalist and was awarded best performance. She went on to publish her first single, “Tides and Sea”; a true story about a man finding his way from Newfoundland to Alberta after the closing of the cod fisheries in the early 90s.

Later that year, she competed at BVJ (Big Valley Jamboree) on the ACMA (Alberta Country Music Association) Horizon Stage, landing a spot as a finalist in her first year while performing only original music. She was invited by Country Music Alberta Hall of Fame member Ivan Daines to play at his annual Country Music Pick-Nic in August of 2019. She also received runner up at the Vegreville Country 106 Star Search in 2019.

She kicked off 2020 by publishing her newest single, “Alberta Strong” which is her first single to be played on radio. As the summer went on, she continued to take advantage of live-streaming opportunities including being featured in Country Music Alberta's Sizziln' Summer Takeover.

In September of 2020, after participating in Airdrie's Artember Music Festival, she claimed first prize in the Airdrie Springwood Studios Songwriting contest with fellow artist Christine Wigley. Shortly after, she was honured to recieve a nomination for the Horizon Youth Award at the 2021 Country Music Alberta awards.

She began 2021 by completing her Royal Conservatory of Music level 10 piano exam, which she accomplished with first class honors. She spent the summer of 2021 busking and playing small venues where she refined her performing skills.

In the Autumn of 2021, she independently recorded and released her demo album Homemade Hymns: a 13 track LP which demonstrates her musicianship and tells the story of the faith which informs all of her musical endeavours.

She recently began attending college in Texas where she is earning her degree in commercial music while pursuing an Associate Diploma with the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) in classical piano.

Over the next few years, she is working to lay a foundation of skills which will make her a quality musician in all aspects. She loves to work and loves to worship because to her they are most often the same thing.  You can follow her musical journey on the platforms below.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankuflness in your hearts to God.
